What have you learned while being in IMPACT Club: “I’ve learned how to become a leader and help others by impacting myself, my school, and my community.”
Let us introduce you guys to some of our leadership students! This is Quincey’s 2nd year & I can always count on him to ask his funny yet serious questions. He’s always willing to volunteer when I need it as well. This is Brittany & Sashe’s first year & both of these girls have grown & matured in a short amount of time.
Douglass Middle School
These two beautiful girls are Talitha & GiGi. I started hanging with them through step practice. They are both members of the Douglass Gamas juniors sorority step team. With seeing them in practice & every Wednesday walking through the cafeteria, along with trying to be at all of their step shows, they decided to start coming to impact club! So that just shows that once you start investing your time in these kids, they will soon know your not a “come & go” person & will come see what YOU ARE about. So today, they brought 3 more of their gamma sisters to club. These girls are such a joy to be around & even tho some of them are graduating, they’ve opened the door for the other Gammas next year!!!!

During our staff meeting, we talked about bringing this school year to a close & what we can do with our clubs to go out stronger. We are figuring out a group activity to bring our kids together since we’re not doing summer camp this year. I love this team & the fact that we work so well together makes it better!! Any one of these people will & have put their personal time aside to help out another. We take care of each other and that’s what makes us family.
This is John Marshall High/Middle school. Impact club this past Tuesday was very “Hands On.” They did trust falls!!!! Our kids were so energized & ready to participate, it was incredible! They displayed excellent teamwork, leadership & encourage the ones not so excited about the activity. Out of about 26 kids, we only had 2 who wasn’t comfortable. But the ones who didn’t fall, were still willing to catch others!! We had a blast!!! Thanks Melanie for helping out this week!
